Database Solutions

Joe Cioffi, d.b.a. McKenzie River Web Services has been designing, developing, implementing and supporting database solutions since 1985, beginning with a dBase II project that ran on 8086 class PC, with no hard drive, that allowed the user to keep a parts inventory and prepare proposals, to his most recent project, a multi-user Windows based Visual Foxpro system that interfaced with Mas90 Accounting system that assisted the user with identifying products that were affected by a product recall, identifying customers who had purchased the products over a specified time period, printing required reports and letters to those customers, and tracking the progress of customer response.

Although Visual Foxpro is my preferred development platform, I have recently began gaining experience with SQL.

Other database solutions that I have developed include the following:

Physical Inventory system utilizing barcode scanners that allowed the client to save over 60 man hours per inventory.
Product documentation system, interfacing with PDF documents that allowed the user to track expiration dates and sales staff to easily locate approved product information and print it directly from there work stations.
Product contract and quotation database, allowing sales assistants to easily prepare quotes and contracts.
Complete point of sale solution for the salon industry that allowed clients to schedule and track appointments, maintain customer records, inventory and sales information.

Experience also includes designing solutions that interact with Mas90 and SBT accounting systems.

In addition to Foxpro, SQL and Microsoft Access, development platforms also include Java, Java Script and CGI Perl.
